Our Pledges

  Teacher Pledge

Reseda Elementary teachers pledge to:

  • Provide high-quality, academically stimulating curriculum for all students.
  • Maintain safe and supportive learning environments for all students.
  • Develop partnerships with parents in order to maintain and foster high standards of academic achievement and behavior.
  • Evaluate each student's work and progress.
  • Provide relevant and timely homework and feedback on assignments.
  • Communicate with all parents regarding student's progress and provide suggestions for home support.
  • Respect the cultural differences of all members of the Reseda community.
  • Be accessible to parents during flexible times and reasonable hours.
  • Inform and provide opportunities for parents to volunteer during school events/activities and participate and/or observe in the classroom.
Parent Pledge

Parents/caregivers of Reseda Elementary students pledge to:

  • Set high standards of academic achievement and positive behavior for their child.
  • Ensure that their child arrives at school on time and ready to learn every day.
  • Read with their child or ensure that their child reads independently for 20 minutes each day at home.
  • Provide time, space, and support for their child to do his/her homework.
  • Follow their child's progress by attending conferences, reviewing schoolwork, and communicating with the teacher.
  • Encourage their child to take advantage of tutoring opportunities offered.
  • Take advantage of opportunities to observe in their child's classroom, volunteer, attend parent meetings/workshops, participate in school activities, and support PTA functions.
  • Respect all members of the Reseda community.
Student Pledge

Students of Reseda Elementary pledge to:

  • Arrive at school on time, ready to learn, participate, and ask for help when needed.
  • Work hard to complete all their classwork and homework assignments/projects.
  • Work cooperatively with their teachers, classmates, and school staff.
  • Take advantage of tutoring opportunities when offered/needed.
  • Resolve conflicts in a positive and non-violent manner.
  • Respect all members of the Reseda community.
