Title I

Our parents and teachers work together to make sure all our students reach or exceed grade-level standards.

The parents, students, and school staff of Reseda Elementary meet yearly to discuss student-learning needs based on current achievement data. Our School-Parent Compact for Achievement (click here for Spanish) is revised based on these discussions. Teachers suggest home learning strategies, parents add ideas to make them more specific, and students identify ways to support their learning goals. ELAC provides recommendations and SSC makes and approves revisions as needed based on Teacher, Parent, and Student input.

Activities to Build Partnerships

SSC
School Site Council is responsible for developing, revising, and adopting the comprehensive school safety plan and the SPSA with its proposed expenditure of all categorical funds.

ELAC
In accordance with the California Education Code, Section 52176(b), all schools with twenty-one or more English Learner (EL) students, not including Reclassified Fluent English Proficient (RFEP) students, are required to establish an English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC). The ELAC provides written recommendations to the SSC regarding programs and services for EL students.

SDMC
The School Decision Making Council is responsible for providing written recommendations to the SSC regarding programs, school polices, and processes that will improve the quality of education and enhance the learning experience.

Parent Trainings
Parents are invited to a number of workshops that are provided in our Parent Center, including topics like changing graduation requirements, the CA Dashboard, how to support learning at home, and positive behavior support.

Coffee with the Principal
These sessions on important topics are scheduled for every fourth Friday of every school month. If you would like to volunteer, participate in, and/or observe a classroom, please contact the Parent Center Director by telephone at (818) 343-1312.
